When I received the support letter for my parole hearing, I broke down in tears. It wasn’t just a letter—it was a lifeline. Someone believed in me enough to speak on my behalf, to remind the world that I am more than my past. That letter gave me courage to face the board, strength to keep growing, and faith that restoration is possible. I thank God for HIGO Ministries and for every person who chooses to see us as souls worth saving.

Corey P & My daughter Za'nai

I never thought I’d hear my daughter say, ‘I forgive you.’ For years, I carried the weight of regret—missing birthdays, milestones, and moments I’ll never get back. But through the help of HIGO Ministries, I found the courage to talk to her over the phone. It wasn’t a perfect conversation, but it was honest. That phone call opened a door I thought was sealed shut. We cried. We prayed. And now, we’re rebuilding something beautiful. I’m still in here, but my heart is free. Thank you for helping me believe that restoration is possible.

In this place, where time stands still and hope can feel distant, your words arrive like a breath of fresh air. Each photo reminds me of life beyond these walls. Each scripture reminds me that grace still flows. And each letter reminds me that I am not forgotten. You may never fully know the power of your kindness, but I carry it with me every day. Thank you for being a light in my darkness. HIGO Ministries you are part of my healing, part of my journey, and part of my restoration.

Lolita M.

I live in Nebraska and was recently released after serving 16 years in prison. When I came home, I had nothing — no underwear, no clothes, nothing to start my new life. A friend told me about HIGO Ministries and said they help people with the necessities needed after release. I sent an email, not expecting a response since they were all the way in Alabama.

Seven days later, a box arrived at my door filled with everything I needed — brand‑new clothes for work, perfume, earrings, and other essentials for a woman starting over. I was shocked to see the tags still on the clothes.

HIGO was a blessing to me. They gave me dignity when I had none, and hope when I needed it most.
